President Ruto nominates ex-IEBC Chair Issack Hassan, former MP Jaguar to State job

President William Ruto
has nominated Ahmed Issack Hassan, former chair of the Neutral Electoral and Boundaries Charge (IEBC), because the model new Chairperson of the Neutral Policing
Oversight Authority (IPOA).

The announcement was made by way of a communiqué from Head of Public
Service Felix Koskei on Tuesday, which confirmed that President Ruto had
submitted Hassan’s title to Parliament for approval and subsequent appointment.

Hassan was one in all eight
candidates shortlisted for the place in October, following an open title for
features by the IPOA Chairperson Alternative Panel on September 13, 2024.

After reviewing the features,
the panel shortlisted eight candidates for the chairperson place and 37 for the
member positions.

Furthermore,
Koskei revealed that Ann Wanjiku Mwangi, Dr Micah Onyiego Nyakego, Boniface
Kipkemoi Samati, Dr Annette Mbogoh, John Muchiri Nyaga, Kenwilliams Nyakomitah
and Jackline Lukalo Mwenesi have been nominated
to perform members of the IPOA board.

“Throughout the
transitions arising from vacancies inside Constitutional Commissions and completely different
State Firms, His Excellency the President has proper this second, in prepare of the
prerogative vested throughout the Head of State and Authorities, nominated people for
appointment to quite a few public locations of labor,” Koskei’s communiqué reads partly.

“The nominations have been
preceded by recommendations acquired from the respective Alternative Panel(s)
appointed to find out nominees for appointment to the respective Constitutional
Commissions/Boards. ”

Furthermore, President
Ruto has nominated Charles Orinda Dulo as Chairperson of the Charge on
Administrative Justice (CAJ). He has moreover nominated former Starehe MP Charles
Njagua Kanyi and Dorothy Jemator Kimengech to perform members the CAJ board.

In addition to, Ruto has
proposed Sammy Chepkwony for the place of Chairperson on the Salaries and
Remuneration Charge (SRC) and nominated Retired Maj. Gen. Martin Kizito
Ong’oyi, Mohamed Aden Abdi, Jane Gatakaa Njage, Leonid Ashindu, Dr. Gilda
Odera, and Dr. Geoffrey Apollo Omondi to sit on the SRC board.

Former Isiolo Lady Rep
Rehema Dida Jaldesa has been nominated to chair the Nationwide Gender and Equality
Charge, with Michael Mbithuka Nzomo nominated to affix the corporate’s board as
a member.

Furthermore, President
Ruto nominated Gerald Nyoma Arita for the place of Deputy Governor on the
Central Monetary establishment of Kenya.
