Why is Malaysia’s social media buzzing over Alice Chang and her sister Adeline?

Malaysian social media is abuzz with hypothesis, condemnation and empathy over the weird antics of two sisters – one in all whom posted pictures of her licking dough at a gentle pretzel chain – as their actions mystify and divide the general public.

Final Wednesday, the Auntie Anne’s pretzel chain in Malaysia was pressured to close down an outlet at a mall in Kuala Lumpur after a public outcry over the conduct of worker Alice Chang, who went viral after posting an 18-second video of her inappropriately dealing with a lump of dough on the outlet, together with kissing it.

Chang, who was “instantly terminated”, was then noticed by the general public at Chilly Stone Creamery, an ice cream parlour at an upscale mall within the standard Bukit Bintang buying district, prompting its administration to swiftly distance the chain from her over the weekend.

“We didn’t rent her, and he or she didn’t have entry to the meals,” the ice cream parlour mentioned, including that she had hidden her identification when making use of for a part-time job.

Malaysian Reddit customers reacted with amusement over the restaurant’s determination to concern an announcement, saying it had “scrubbed clear” its premises simply because Chang was there.
